Around Tamarind Hill

The River Safari & Fishing
At Tamarind Hill

The Gini Ganga makes its meandering way by Tamarind Hill. ‘KapuEla’, the name given to this particular stretch translates to ‘river extension’ and was made to bring the waters right upto Tamarind Hill in order to ease the movement of building material for this home.

A late afternoon river safari by canoe as monkeys grin down from tree tops, birds flutter by and reptiles stealthily find their way from land to water, gives you much to see.

Fishing is arranged under the guidance of our trained village folk. Brush with local livelihood as you learn fishing techniques and catch a variety of lula, aandha, korali and other fish.

Kovila Godella Temple
A ten minute stroll to this temple.

In a quiet setting, this temple holds a history of a 400 year old Bo tree and is a particularly special place for Tamarind Hill as the original owners of this home had built the stupa here.

The faithful from many religions come as it is believed to be a site of great healing power.
